Why Choose Commonwealth Learning Online Institute?

Commonwealth Learning Online Institute is the most recently formed division of the Stratford Foundation Inc., a nonprofit educational institution founded in 1986 to become an academic resource for the district of Kansas City. The Stratford Foundation then set about providing on-site educational instruction for students, together with classes for educators and tutors so they could enhance their professional development. Once the world wide web made it feasible for busy educators with time restrictions to accomplish courses in comfort at home, CLOI was created to fill this need.

We brought out our very first 6 facilitated public courses in 2012 after reaching a lucrative deal with Gordon College to offer our students with graduate credits. At this time we are extremely pleased to also include Westfield State University and MidAmerica Nazarene University in our institutions offering graduate credit.

Our courses are readily accessible online via a tablet, laptop, desktop PC, or any kind of mobile device. They are ideal for Kansas City, KS school curriculum directors, administrators, superintendents and principals and can be studied individually or in groups based upon the needs of your district or school. It doesn’t matter where you’re at in your professional development, our web based courses broaden your knowledge and teaching techniques.

These training courses take between 50 and 70 hours to complete and earn you 3 graduate credits or 36 PDPs. Facilitated format courses are offered five times each year: Jan, Mar, May, July and Sept. The self-paced internet courses offer you far more flexibility since you do them at your own pace. A facilitator is available to answer your queries via Email and also does marking should you be doing the study course for credits. Self-paced training courses should take between eight and 15 hours to accomplish and earn participants 1/2 to one credit.
