Why Take a Commonwealth Learning Online Institute Course?

Commonwealth Learning Online Institute is the latest branch of the Stratford Foundation Inc., a non-profit educational enterprise founded in 1986 with the intention of becoming an academic learning resource for the district of Hartford. The Stratford Foundation then began delivering on-site educational instruction for students, as well as classes for teaching professionals so they were able to further their development as professionals. As soon as the internet made it feasible for teachers pressed for time to complete online courses in the comfort of their own home, CLOI was founded to fulfill this need.

Next was to partner with a few universities in an effort to provide graduate credits for our customers. Our very first courses (6) were ready in 2012. Currently, the credit universities include Gordon College, MidAmerica Nazarene University and Westfield State University.

These online courses are easily accessible by any PC or mobile device including laptops and tablets. Whether you are a Hartford school curriculum director, superintendent, principal or administrator, you’re able to do a Commonwealth Learning Online Institute course as part of a group or individually based upon your school’s needs. Your Decision: Self-Paced Vs. Facilitated Courses

CLOI offers 2 course options dependant on just how much instruction and structure you need. The self-paced internet courses give more convenience since you progress through them whenever you have the time. It’s not necessary to complete any lesson by a particular date before moving onto the next. Nevertheless, an experienced facilitator is available to e-mail with your questions or concerns. Such study courses don’t take so long, ordinarily requiring anywhere between eight and 15 hrs to complete. The facilitated internet courses deliver more in-depth training and should take seven weeks to complete. Contrary to the self-paced option, you’re asked to finish each lesson by a certain date before moving on to the next. A seasoned, facilitator leads you through the training and establishes objectives which students have to reach before progressing. Such training courses take about 50 to 70 hours to accomplish. Facilitated courses occur five times yearly from Jan to Sept.
