We partnered up with with an educational organization who helped us form our 6 core reading facilitated courses.

Next was to partner with some universities in an effort to provide graduate credits to our teachers. The initial courses (six in all) were ready in 2012. Currently, the universities offering graduate credit include the likes of MidAmerica Nazarene University, Gordon College and Westfield State University.

We offer 2 options for online courses depending upon how much instruction and structure you are seeking. Self-paced online courses provide more flexibility as you progress when you have the time. It’s not necessary to finish any lesson before a certain date before moving onto the next. However, an experienced facilitator is always there to email with your concerns or questions. Self-paced courses don’t take so long, ordinarily requiring anywhere between eight and 15 hrs to finish. Facilitated courses deliver more detailed training and should take 7 weeks to complete. Contrary to the self-paced option, you will be asked to finish a lesson by a particular date. A specialist, facilitator directs you through the course and sets objectives that students must achieve before continuing with the course. These courses will take somewhere around 50 to 70 hours to do. Facilitated courses are available 5 times throughout the year from Jan to Sept.

Teacher Testimonial

This course has helped me, a middle-level educator, raise my awareness toward phonics instruction and assessment. Comprehension has always been high on my radar and I have many books on this. Only a few, even mention phonics as a target for assessment and analysis.
