Why Pick Commonwealth Learning Online Institute?

CLOI is a branch of the Stratford Foundation Inc. which was established in 1986 to help pupils of all ages triumph over learning problems, and educators realize how to perform their work more efficiently. Commonwealth Learning Online Institute was established in 2010 to deliver versatile online development to educators. The development of our courses commenced when we partnered with an educational enterprise already vetted in the industry. They helped us formulate six core reading facilitated courses.

Our next step was to partner with several universities in an effort to offer graduate credits to our teachers. The initial courses (6) were offered in 2012. Today, the universities offering graduate credits include the likes of MidAmerica Nazarene University, Gordon College and Westfield State University.

Our courses are easily available online via a tablet, PC, laptop, or other mobile device. They are suitable for Rhode Island school curriculum directors, administrators, superintendents and principals and may be taken individually or in groups depending on the requirements of your district or school. Our online facilitated courses, conversely, offer a more structured approach. Consider them to be extensive training in a particular subject over a 7 week time frame. Such online courses should take approximately 50 to70 hours to complete and earn 3 graduate credits or 36 PDPs. They are offered in January, March, May, July, and September.

Online Course Topics

Our current online reading instruction courses focus on Integrating 5 Main Reading Skills, Building Vocabulary, Close Reading and Instructing Spelling and Phonetics. Teacher Testimonial

I enjoyed the discussions and different points of view. I thought there were some very good resources that I have already started using in my own teaching and will continue to reference in the coming year.
