Your Decision: Facilitated Vs. Self Paced Online Courses

We offer two course options depending on how much instruction and structure you need. Our self-paced online courses provide much more flexibility as you progress through them whenever you have the time. You are not required to complete a lesson before a particular date before moving on. Nevertheless, a facilitator is available to email with any queries or concerns. Such training courses are also shorter, commonly requiring between 8 and 15 hours to finish. Our facilitated courses deliver more comprehensive training and should take seven weeks to accomplish. In contrast to the self-paced courses, you are asked to finish a lesson by a particular date before moving on to the next. A professional, facilitator/instructor leads the class through each week and sets goals that participants need to attain before continuing with the course. Our courses will take somewhere between fifty and seventy hours to finish. Our facilitated format courses take place 5 times per year from January to September.

Course Topics in Reading

Our current online reading instruction courses focus on Close Reading, Instructing Phonics and Spelling, Integrating 5 Key Reading Skills and Vocabulary Building. They’re constructed so that you can expose students to fresh techniques for grasping the correlation between written words on a page and the sound of the spoken words, and also how to become speedier readers. All our online courses show plenty of teaching illustrations that you could apply to your own classroom lessons.

Teacher Testimonial

This course has helped me, a middle-level educator, raise my awareness toward phonics instruction and assessment. Comprehension has always been high on my radar and I have many books on this. Only a few, even mention phonics as a target for assessment and analysis.
