Each individual lesson follows a logical structure so that the lessons build upon one another.
The History of CLOI Colonie, New York
CLOI was founded in 2010 when we realized that busy teachers needed a much more convenient way of getting access to the training courses that we also teach on-site. We are a part of the Stratford Foundation Inc. which was itself founded in 1986 to help out students of every age group beat their learning difficulties, particularly reading. We partnered up with an educational institution who assisted us in forming our first six core reading facilitated courses.
Next was to join with some universities to help offer graduate credits to our teachers. Our initial courses (6) were ready in 2012. Currently, our graduate credit offering universities include Westfield State University, Gordon College and MidAmerica Nazarene University.
These courses are readily accessible by any computer or mobile gadget such as laptops and tablets. No matter whether you’re a Colonie, NY school administrator, principal, curriculum director or superintendent, it is possible to take a CLOI course individually or within a group depending on your school’s requirements. Irrespective of how many years of teaching experience you’ve got, these web based courses can expand your teaching techniques and personal development.

Facilitated Vs. Self Paced Courses
Self-paced online courses can be progressed in accordance with your agenda. There’s no dates for completing each lesson; you are able to study them at your leisure. A professional facilitator is available to answer any queries or problems that arise. They’ll also give you a grade if you’re doing the training for credits. Our self-paced online courses will need somewhere between 8 and fifteen hours to do and earn students 1/2 to one credit. They’re open to take at any time. The facilitated courses, in contrast, provide a bit more structure. Consider them to be in-depth workshop training in a chosen topic area over a time frame of 7 weeks. An experienced, masters-level facilitator leads the course and establishes expectations and goals that students need to fulfill each week. These training courses take about 50 to70 hours to complete and will earn you 36 PDPs or 3 graduate credits. They take place in January, March, May, July, and September.
